The convergence of a DFT-algorithm for solution of stress-strain problems in composite mechanics
Article Abstract:
The convergence characteristics of an iterative solution scheme of the Neumann-type useful for obtaining homogenized mechanical material properties from a representativeEs volume element are addressed. The analysis is based on Eshelby's idea of 'equivalent inclusions' and allows modeling of elastically highly heterogeneous bodies with the aid of Discrete Fourier Transforms (DFT).

Failure analysis of tubular hydroforming
Article Abstract:
Failure analysis of tubular hydroforming under combined internal pressure and end feeding is performed by mathematical means. The experimental results provide guidelines for product designers and process engineers for the avoidance of failure during hydroforming and establish that the material anisotropy plays a significant role.
