Surface structures of 4-chlorocatechol adsorbed on titanium dioxide
Article Abstract:
Fourier transform infrared-ATR spectroscopy has identified a single bidentate chemisorbed species as the predominant surface structure formed from the sorption of 4-chlorocatechol to titanium dioxide (TiO2). The intermediate species is present in high amounts at a pH range of 2-10. Structural analysis of the species identified the presence of both covalent and ionic bonds.

High-performance liquid chromatographic methods for the specific monitoring of nickel and vanadium in municipal air at the nanogram per cubic meter levels
Article Abstract:
Nickel (Ni) and Vanadium (V) in fossil fuel emissions may be used as adequate index species in developing municipal air surveillance systems. Determination of the elements is possible through a coupled scheme of reversed-phased chromatography and a spectophotometric detection, which could detect Ni down to 10 pg and V down to 30 pg in 0.1 ml injections.
