Polystyrene panels to shelter families in Afghanistan
Article Abstract:
Scientists are opting to an unusual building material, expanded polystyrene which is known for its low thermal conductivity which makes it an excellent insulator to address the need for safe, affordable housing in Afghanistan and other developing nations. Efforts made by the Federation of American Scientists (FAS), a nonprofit organization that assembled a group of researchers to set performance goals for housing research to meet the needs of both developed and developing nations are presented.

Infrastructure: U.S. airports make way for larger planes
Article Abstract:
The new Airbus 380 developed by Airbus in France will soon take off to the skies from the American airports when it starts it operations in 2006. The unique aspect of the aircraft is that it is the largest airliner in the world and can carry up to 555 passengers. The other features of the new airliner are discussed.
