Article Abstract:
Potential nuclear warfare dangers include: Russian starts another Cold War; conventional war escalates to nuclear war; widespread proliferation increases the chances of an initial launch; and nuclear terrorism. Current programs and options for US and global action are discussed.

Where are the nuclear pions?

Pi mesons, or pions, are providing surprises in the field of nuclear physics. H. Yukawa's work suggested that the pion field grew strong as proximity increased to the nucleon, but recent physical data has contradicted this hypothesis.

The nuclear fleecing of America
Article Abstract:
The Dept of Energy is planning to build an accelerator to produce tritium that will use electricity rather than generate it and that will cost $2 billion or more. Buying tritium from Canada or Russia would be a better plan.
