The problem of performance measurement in the UK petrol market
Article Abstract:
A number of difficulties have been encountered in measuring the performance of UK petrol wholesalers. Performance measurement problems arise from the inadequate information open to the public about them that is further aggravated by their involvement in both retailing and wholesaling activities. The lack of performance measures for wholesaler oil companies are disadvantageous to independent retailers and has influenced the entry of non traditional, non-oil competitors to the market.
