Returning veteran
Article Abstract:
Engineers have designed a rehabilitation program for the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Cleveland, OH, that would ensure the structural integrity of the bridge with minimum future maintenance. Engineers have to consider structural integrity, historical sensitivity, and economical strength before starting the rehabilitation. The rehabilitation involves widening of lanes, narrowing of sidewalks, and the installation of new piping system and catch basins. Watertight joints are placed to reduce future maintenance cost. The renovation process of the bridge is discussed.
