Road to the future
Article Abstract:
The UK has renounced the domestic control of its motor industry, particularly small car manufacturing companies, commercial vehicle and component makers. Such trend makes the UK's motor industry part of the worldwide industry, thereby adding strength on the country's economy. As a proof, the exportation of cars from UK has escalated from 186,000 cars in 1984 to almost 745,000 in 1995 and a record level of 900,000 cars in 1996. Automobile production is continuously increasing to meet the demand. The UK's motor industry is expected to become more stronger in the following years.

Major delays ahead
Article Abstract:
The UK government needs to develop a well-formed strategy for its transport infrastructure to facilitate smooth trading, environment protection and improve competition among its industries. Low investments are affecting the quality of transport provisions. Technological development can help abolish the adverse effects of transport and improve the environmental aspects of transport. The country can benefit from the innovative products, besides lowering of the pollution level. Engineering companies need to be involved with the development of the transportation policy.
