Sea otters of Alaska
Article Abstract:
The project aims to conduct the first photo-ID survey of sea otters to track otter population changes over time, and to plan the first use of modern satellite telemetry to follow their movements. Dr. Randall Davis will site at water SimpsonEs and Sheep Bays to, locate and photograph sea otters at the water's surface, use binoculars to determine what they're eating, map and survey different nearshore habitats, and back at base assist in entering data and identifying otter mug shots.

Hawksbill turtles of the Great Barrier Reef
Article Abstract:
The project aims to monitor key nesting and foraging populations of a critically endangered species to develop sustainable management plans. Ian Bell, Dr. Kirsten Dobbs and his project team will explore the population dynamic of one of the largest concentrations of foraging hawksbill turtles on the Great Barrier Reef, and possibly the world.
