Software system eases truck permitting
Article Abstract:
Michigan, Ohio and Minnesota state transportation departments are using computer-aided truck permit and routing systems developed by Geopak-TMS. The core of Geopak-TMS' product is a digital base map that has data on the state's highway infrastructure and ongoing road, bridge and construction activities. The program, which carries the state's procedures and rules on oversized and overweight vehicles, considers all relevant factors and assigns a route for the oversized or overweight vehicle.
