The little lakes that could: forty-six of them in Northwestern Ontario have given Canada a world-class water science program
Article Abstract:
The Canadian government shows little interest in the successful environmental research programs implemented by the Experimental Lakes Area. Studies in methane emission show flooded peatlands as promising gas sources. However, politicians practice bureaucratic intervention in scientific matters that may cause political implications. Experiences of John Rudd and David Schindler testify to this.
