The Canadian Nature Federation promotes two tasks to protect the ecosystems which serve as habitat for many species: implementation of rigid conservation practices and creation of standards against which changes in the landscape, waters and biological diversity can be checked.

Development around the national parks of Canada and the US is threatening irreversible damage to park environments. Lands that extend beyond a park's boundaries are important to its ecological health, and ecosystem management must be a priority in a parks system.

Treating the Earth as home
Article Abstract:
Local and regional ecosystems must be protected. These are the spaces which support species and with which humans interact everyday. Therefore, a wholistic approach to space protection is urgently needed to save the Earth.
