Venus revealed
Article Abstract:
The Magellan spacecraft's first year of mapping the planet Venus has resulted in an important but sometimes unclear array of landscapes. The mapping has revealed impact craters distorted by the atmosphere, volcanoes, fractures, and a 6,800 kilometer-long lava channel.

The Magellan aircraft's mapping of the surface of the planet Venus from 1990 to 1994, together with detailed computer simulations, allowed scientists to reconstruct its climate history. Intense volcanism caused dramatic climatic changes in Venus.
