Voting with the heart: Emotion trumps reason at the ballot box

Many experiments and computer models have suggested that voters tend to make emotional decisions while choosing their leaders, which they rationalize afterward. Political scientist Charles Taber of Stony Brook University and his colleagues have developed a computer model dubbed John Q. Public to simulate political opinions of voters on current events.
