Water resources: California enters landmark western water pact
Article Abstract:
California has drawn about 800,000 acre-ft of Colorado water to meet the intense water demands in the regions supplied by the four water districts. During a ceremony at Hoover Dam on October 16, 2003, Gale Norton, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior, signed an agreement reached by four Southern California water districts which guarantees a fair share of the valuable resource to six other states in the Colorado River basin.

Collaboration key to Harlem building design
Article Abstract:
The design of a mixed-use high-rise building that will be constructed in Harlem, in the northern part of the New York borough of Manhattan, consists of a slender tower that will cantilever over a neighboring property. The idea of collaboration is helping the engineers and architects to work harmoniously and break down some unnatural barriers that are created by technology.
