Coal is a fuel that emits considerably more carbon dioxide per unit of electricity generated compared to other sources, resulting in a higher threat to global warming. The coal conversion technologies such as integrated low-carbon energy strategy that incorporates carbon dioxide capture and storage can reconcile substantial use of coal.
