Work resumes on stalled Indian Museum project
Article Abstract:
The Commission of Fine Arts has approved the revised design of the National Museum of the American Indian after the project was stalled by the termination of the contract with the original architects. Construction work is expected to begin on Sep 1999 on a portion of the National Mall and the facility would be completed by 2002. The museum would be built with cast-in-place concrete with exterior walls curved and colored to look like rock formations in the southwestern US. The facade will be made of kasota stone, a limestone from Minnesota.

CPM schedule analysis insufficient to prove delay claim
Article Abstract:
Critical path analysis is an important tool used by contractors in claims cases to identify and prove delays to projects. Administrative tribunals and courts use the 'as-planned' critical path schedule to assign blame to responsible parties. A 1997 court case shows critical path analysis is insufficient to prove a delay claim and contemporaneous records may take precedence.
