Prevalence, effectiveness, and predictors of planning the place of death among older persons followed in community-based long term care
Article Abstract:
Elderly patients in a house call program were able to die in the place of their choosing. Of 80 patients in the program, 66 wanted to die at home, 13 wanted to die in a hospital, and one wanted to die in a hospice. Over 90% died in their preferred location.

Home hospital program: a pilot study
Article Abstract:
A pilot study on a home hospital (HH) program has been carried out and it showed that HH is safe, very satisfactory, cost-effective for some acutely ill older people who needed acute care. The study was a prospective case series one of people aged at least 65 with illnesses including chronic heart failure community-acquired pneumonia, cellulitis and chronic obstructive airways disease.
