Do laws restricting access to firearms by domestic violence offenders prevent intimate partner homicide?
Article Abstract:
Effectiveness of the prohibition laws for possession of firearms by domestic violence offenders in the United States is examined. An analysis of the impact of three types of laws reveals that the restraining order law has pulled down the female intimate partner homicide rates by 7%. Domestic violence misdemeanor law and confiscation law is found to be ineffective.

Domestic violence and firearms: reflections of a prosecutor
Article Abstract:
Challenges posed due to access to firearms to the criminals perpetrating domestic violence in the United States are discussed. Firearms are used to intimidate, threaten, injure and murder the partners. It throws light in to the inadequacy of laws in the United States for prevention of such crimes.

Are temporary restraining orders more likely to be issued when applications mention firearms?
Article Abstract:
Role of firearms in the restraining order process is examined. Number of times firearms are mentioned in the restraining order application and the extent to which the mention of firearm influence the legal decision to issue the order are also examined.
