Social structural position and prejudice: an exploration of cross-national differences in regression slopes
Article Abstract:
Hierarchical linear modeling to analyze multi-level data from 17 east and west European countries was used to study the collective threat posed to dominant ethnic and racial groups which increase average levels of prejudice and intensify the relationships between individual characteristics and prejudice. The effect of student status is stronger in countries with larger immigrant populations and countries with poor economic conditions have weaker relationships between the social structural variables and prejudice.

Race, ethnicity, and the gender poverty gap
Article Abstract:
Data from the Current Population Survey (CPS 1994-2001) is used to study the relationship between gender-specific demographic variations and the gender poverty gap among seven racial/ethnic groups. Results suggested that immigration status could have an equalizing effect on the gender gap in poverty.
