Article Abstract:
The sources of Parisian flanerie with the view of exploring 19th century understandings of cultural and aesthetic modernity are interpreted. Comparisons between two separate though interconnected formulaic narratives about the flaneur are and how did he became the emblem of cultural and aesthetic modernity are described.

The different kind of warfare that has developed in modern western society is discussed by looking at both the individual and collective identity of the problem. The elucidation of these relations requires an unexpected application of aesthetic ideas in particular the notion of sublime.
