Transition to self-directed work teams: implications of transition time and self-monitoring for managers' use of influence tactics
Article Abstract:
A number of organizations have employed self-directed work teams (SDWTs) in order to face: pressures from competition, high quality expectations and demands for worker empowerment. The modifications in managers' practice of influence tactics during the transition to SDWTs in order to encourage the development of work teams are studied.

The proficiency trap: how to balance enriched job designs and the team's need for support
Article Abstract:
The role of cultural factors in job enrichment and team support relationship is analyzed. The cultural factors like individualism, collectivism, power distance and leader's practices are considered. The relationship between job enrichment practices and professional performance is studied in 56 health care teams in various hospitals.
