A comparison of the three-factor eating questionnaire and the restraint scale and consideration of Lowe's three-factor model
Article Abstract:
The Restraint Scale (RS) and the Cognitive Restraint Scale of the Three Factor Eating Questionnaire (TFEQ-CR) were compared to determine their ability to predict negative-affect eating in the laboratory. RS was hypothesized to be a better predictor of disinhibited eating, and subjects were classed as high or low, leading to four separate groups. The results found no significant differences in laboratory food consumption between groups, but there was evidence of important differences in the two scales, providing some support for Lowe's (1993) three-factor model of dieting behaviour.

Using interactive voice response technology and timeline follow-back methodology in studying bing eating an drinking behavior: Different answers to different forms of the same question?
Article Abstract:
Eating disorders and alcohol abuse usually need a report of behavior frequency to determine a diagnosis or inclusion into a research program. The results of two types of reporting on binge eating and drinking behavior were compared. A convergence across measures for drinking behavior was found, although there was a divergence between interactive voice response (IVR) and Timeline Follow-back (TLFB) for binge eating reports, underrepresenting actual bing eating frequency.
