Social workers generally share common values and purposes across the globe, yet the focus of activities and practice parameters vary greatly. The latest joint International Association of Schools of Social Work and the International Federation of Social Workers definition of social work practice would likely help specific countries to clarify practice descriptions while promoting a more unified voice in social work efforts worldwide.

Barriers to access: Social services and the Roma of Poland
Article Abstract:
The status and treatment of the Polish Romani population group deserve special attention despite its small size. The potential disconnects between the Roma and social services in the community are identified and practices are suggested to strengthen the connection between the marginalized Roma and the social services community.
