An acute post-rape intervention to prevent substance use and abuse
Article Abstract:
Per-event anxiety increases the risk of acquiring psychopathology and substance use and abuse in post-rape victims. The effects of rape can lead to distress which is only increased with the forensic evidence collection procedures thus increasing substance use in an attempt to reduce stress.

Ecological Assessment of Substance-abuse Experiences (EASE): Findings from a new instrument development pilot study
Article Abstract:
Adults seeking treatment for substance abuse are assessed for their orientation to addiction or recovery communities using social context referents. Findings suggest that drug- and recovery related social identities are related to drug-use severity and drug-use concern.

Social workers' ratings of comorbid personality disorders in substance abusers
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted in which substance abusers were rated by two different staff members involved in their treatment. Results suggest that clinical ratings of personality disorders done by social workers is not likely to be as unreliable as previously believed.
