Article Abstract:
Data are presented on factors affecting treatment initiation among women. These include patients' perceived seriousness of legal difficulties, drug craving severity, drug use frequency, alcohol use, pregnancy history, and physical abuse history.

A study examined factors associated with drug treatment dropout among injection drug user (IDUs) in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is a group that has contributed significantly to the self-sustaining AIDS epidemic in the island since the mid-1980s.
