Ballad of a thin man: sociolegal studies in a time of postmodern crisis
Article Abstract:
Boaventura de Sousa Santos reminds us that postmodernism means inquiry into new subjectivities and new forms of government. The metaphors of the frontier, the baroque and the South can be explored in terms of how these three spheres are governed. This is not an alternative to building postmodern subjectivities. Today's sociolegal scholars need to address the issues Santos poses by dialogue across issues of government and subjectivity.
