Bombers and bystanders in suicide attacks in Israel, 2000 to 2003
Article Abstract:
A study of the result of the interaction between suicide operatives and bystanders shows that bystanders' intervention reduced casualties, at the cost of the bystanders' lives. The outcome of suicide attacks depended on many factors ranging from the location of the attack to the qualities of the attacker and identity of the faction that organized it, hence a society under attack by suicide terrorists can protect itself by active security measures that should not be limited to before and after the event.

Re-enchanting terrorism: Jihadists as "liminal beings"
Article Abstract:
An attempt is made to explain how jihadists can be defined as liminal beings that seek to re-enchant the world via their symbolic and performative features. It is agreed that the absence of central command structures of the jihadists not only make them more lethal, but also diminishes any 'previous inhibitions' from inflicting widespread casualties.
