Article Abstract:
The ambivalent responses to the speech that the Tibetan leader, Dalai Lama, delivered at the Society for Neuroscience's annual conference are discussed. In the speech, Dalai Lama exhorted neuroscientists to concentrate on bridging the gap between Buddhism and science. The studies by Richard Davidson, a neuroscientist, on meditation are also discussed.
