Canada-U.S. metropolitan density patterns: zonal convergence and divergence
Article Abstract:
The density patterns of the three largest Canadian metropolitan areas are compared with the 12 U.S. metropolitan statistical areas. Inter-city comparisons of historically and geographically defined zones suggest a period of cross-national convergence before Second World War.

Geostatics as measures of spatial segregation
Article Abstract:
The author proposes the use of geostatistical measures, including the standard deviational ellipse, as a means of determining the spatial segregation of ethnic groups. A case study of the Northern Virginia/Washington region is provided.

Comparing traditional and spatial segregation measures: a spatial scale perspective
Article Abstract:
Sensitivity of spatial segregation measures to the scale effect, in both two group and multigroup situation, is evaluated. Results under the influence of scale effect of the spatial and traditional measures are discussed.
