Changing attitudes towards elderly dependence in postwar Japan
Article Abstract:
The attitudinal changes which consist of both family and public welfare systems, considered as a context where familial intergenerational relationships are placed and distinguishing financial dependence from personal care dependence was analyzed. The findings show that Japanese attitudes towards elderly dependence have changed due to the development of public pension and public care systems.
