Contemporary development forces in the nonmetropolitan west: new insights from rapidly growing communities
Article Abstract:
Case study data is presented on growth rates of four non-urban communities, two in Idaho, one in Colorado and one in New Mexico. The data show that community economies continue to be closely linked with resource-dependent industrial activities, and that rapid growth fosters problems with assimilation and fractioning.
