Correlation between self-reported smoking status and serum cotinine during pregnancy
Article Abstract:
The sensitivity and specificity of self-reported smoking with serum cotinine as the gold standard and the correlation between self-reported smoking in cigarettes per day and serum cotinine levels was determined. Findings show that the self-reported smoking during pregnancy is highly accurate and the high correlation coefficient suggests that this is robust surrogate for cotinine levels.

Does a childhood history of externalizing problems predict smoking during pregnancy?
Article Abstract:
The hypothesis that the history of externalizing problems is related to persistent smoking during pregnancy is tested. The results suggest that a childhood history of conduct problems is a risk factor for maternal smoking during pregnancy.
