Refugees, migrants and oral health
Article Abstract:
The oral health of migrants and refugees is of prime concern to migrant communities themselves, relief agencies and the host countries. Their exposure to long-term stress caused by dangerous environments, malnutrition, a total lack of or inadequate health care, and lack of means to observe proper hygiene can lead to serious oral problems. Thus, basic treatment and preventive care should be extended to migrant and refugee communities, such as basic medical equipment and supplies, training and patient support.

U.S. welfare law violates human rights of immigrants
Article Abstract:
The Welfare Reform and Reconciliation Act of 1996 discriminates against immigrants in the distribution of social welfare benefits. It will be difficult for immigrants to qualify for benefits because the law restricts their welfare eligibility. Allegedly, the purpose for instituting these restrictions is to promote self-sufficiency among immigrants but the real motive is to cut welfare costs. This discrimination against immigrants amounts to violation of their human rights.
