Effects of temperature and prior residence on territorial aggression in the convict cichlid Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum
Article Abstract:
Experiments were conducted on the convict cichlid Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum to examine the co-relation between aggressive behavior of the fishes and the duration of residence and ambient temperature. Intruders were introduced into the tanks of cichlids at different temperatures and after different time periods. Results indicated that at 26 degrees centigrade, cichlids who had inhabited the tank for 48 hours were more aggressive than those who had been there for only 24 hours, while no such difference was observed at 30 degrees centigrade. Increased levels of territorial aggression observed at higher temperature is attributed to the fact that cichlids spawn at 30 degrees centigrade.

Maternal views on aggression: Japan and Israel
Article Abstract:
A study of the maternal views of Japanese and Israeli women on aggressive behavior in children is conducted. Both disapprove of their children's aggression, but for different reasons. While Japanese mothers regard aggressive behavior of their children as natural, they believe it should be kept under control in order not to cause harm to others. Israeli mothers, on the other hand, view child aggression as dangerous for both the child and the relationship with the opponent.
