Engaging residents in the political process
Article Abstract:
The idea of allowing young people to vote on election day seems to be a daunting task, and turnout is typically low among low-income groups as they feel that their votes does not matter and life is a real struggle for them and they are preoccupied with surviving rather than thinking about voting. It is the responsibility of others to make sure that the low income group know how empowered they are and if one can harness that power, that influence, a change can be seen and government will also pay more attention to their needs.
