European starlings are capable of discriminating subtle size asymmetries in paired stimuli
Article Abstract:
An investigation is conducted to find the abilities of European starlings to discriminate small size asymmetries for which they are trained through operant conditioning in a free-flight aviary. It is found that starlings are capable of discriminating a 10% size asymmetry, which shows that many size asymmetry cues in nature can be discriminated by birds.

The development of functional response units: the role of demarcating stimuli
Article Abstract:
The roles of demarcating stimuli and differential reinforcement probability on the development of functional response units are examined through an experiment with rats. Models of operant learning must include a mechanism for changing the response unit as a function of reinforcement history is suggested.

Resurgence of integrated behavioral units
Article Abstract:
The dynamics of well-learned response sequences when reinforcement contingencies are changed are examined using two experiments with rats. These experiments demonstrate that sequence-level processes operate simultaneously in integrated behavioral units.
