Violence restrained: Effects of self-regulation and its depletion on aggression
Article Abstract:
The link between self-control also known as self-regulation and aggression was investigated to examine the hypothesis that the presence of stimuli to aggressive impulses leads people with poor self-control to act aggressively, particularly when this capacity was depleted by prior use. Results indicated that aggression levels were higher when the capacity for self-regulation was depleted by prior acts of self-regulation.
