What rural restructuring?
Article Abstract:
A critique of the term 'rural restructuring' is presented, along with an argument that the level of transformation implied by the term is not occurring at the rate presumed by popular opinion. Data from rural areas of England are used to support this contention.

The restructuring of rural Spain?
Article Abstract:
The authors argue that the concept of rural restructuring as presented in the literature is not applicable to the trends in Spain's countryside. The country's rural regions are not characterized by capital markets and consumerism, which are primary components of the restructuring concept.

Article Abstract:
The production of homes through the exception policy is not conductive to the construction of many new houses. Drawing on research in the East of England, it is shown that institutional biases result in timid approaches toward helping those on low incomes who wish to live in villages.
