Violent youth in boot camps for non-violent offenders
Article Abstract:
Remediating violent behavior of teenagers must be seen as a bio-psychosocial perspective. Alternatives to prison such as "boot camp" can provide peer intervention necessary to acquire conflict resolution skills.

From adolescent 'serious offender' to adult felon: a predictive study of offense progression
Article Abstract:
This article examines social and demographic risk factors related to the progression of criminal behavior among delinquents in a program for serious juvenile offenders. Results indicate that significant predictors of future criminal activity include male gender, gang membership, minority status, drug use, child abuse, and age at first offense.

A developmentally anchored conceptual model of drug use tested among adult boot camp inmates
Article Abstract:
Research has revealed specific factors that influence drug use. Studies using adults in boot camp correctional institutions showed that histories of physical abuse and feelings of alienation are among the primary factors that make drug abuse a likelihood.
