Girls as "weapons of terror" in Northern Uganda and Sierra Leonean rebel fighting forces
Article Abstract:
Girls in two fighting forces, the Lord's Resistance Army in Northern Uganda and the Revolutionary United Front in Sierra Leone and their roles as combatants whose primary strategy is perpetrating terrorist acts against civilians are highlighted. In analyses of gender and terrorism, girls are typically subsumed under the larger category of female that marginalizes their experiences and fails to recognize that they posses agency and power.

The black widows: Chechen women join the fight for independence-and Allah
Article Abstract:
The Chechen rebel sieges of the Dubrovka Theater in Moscow and the elementary school in Beslan as a focal point is used to trace the events of that day back to its origins in the women who participated in the hostage taking. The impact that female rebels had on the psyche of Russians and their media, as well as the impact that Russian government policy in Chechnya has had on Chechen women is revealed.

A psychological perspective indicates that two of the greatest fears of modern time are combined in the term 'cyberterrorism'. The rise of cyberangst is charted and the evidence cited by those who predict imminent catastrophe is examined.
