Article Abstract:
The nature of recent immigrant flows and their impact to New York City's population is presented. The Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965 and the growth in refugee flows are key factors that determine the immigrant flow in the city. The entrance of these immigrants to New York City has helped avoid the negative effects of population losses. These immigrants are also crucial factors in maintaining the city's housing stock.
