Identification of adolescents at risk for smoking initiation: validation of a measure of susceptibility
Article Abstract:
Smoking susceptibility is an effective screening technique for identifying high risk adolescents for smoking initiation. Susceptibility remains a significant factor even after the psychological variables such as peer-group norms or accessibility are controlled. Addition of these variables can help in the precise identification of adolescents at increased risk for experimenting with cigarettes from those who have refrained from such experimentation.

Development of the drug abuse screening test for adolescents
Article Abstract:
The development of the Drug Abuse Screening Test for Adolescents (DAST-A) is described, and psychometrically tested in a group of adolescent inpatients. It showed good internal consistency, unidimensional factor structure, good concurrent validity and high test-retest reliably, indicating that it is a promising drug abuse screening measure in psychiatrically impaired adolescents.
