Keeping up with HUD: a solution to automation needs
Article Abstract:
Local housing agencies (LHAs) must have the technical wherewithal to meet new and changing requirements by the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). One computer system that can help LHAs cope with these requirements is Modern Technology Inc.'s Public Housing Authority Software (PHAS). This program has 10 modules that provide support to various aspects of LHA management, including finance, maintenance and occupancy. It is equipped with an electronic forms generation system, which makes it unnecessary for LHAs to store and manage HUD forms. PHAS is compatible with the IBM AS 400 hardware. Although there are other platforms that can be used, the AS 400's integrated nature makes it the lowest cost-to-use system in complex, network enterprise processing environments.
