Learning by comparing: Reflections on international student seminars
Article Abstract:
Key themes in the comparative literature related to the question of learning are explored and participant evaluations of cross-national seminar weeks held in London and Munich are traced. The seminar week's strength lies in bringing together people from countries and experiences to explore new aspects of welfare provision together and it was observed that this model is the basis of social work practice, concerned with understanding the complexities of human behavior.

International inclusiveness: publicizing Cuba's development of the 'good life'
Article Abstract:
This article examines the socio-economic implications of Cuba's historical and present relations with the United States. The authors argue that due to a lack of resources and socio-economic differences the significant social policies Cuba has implemented, such as educational improvements, low crime and low drug use, and universal public health care, are threatened.

A study conducted to find the cross-cultural experiences of older women who came to the US as adults from Asia is presented. The experiences of international migrant women aging in America are affected by family and cultural patterns, brought by them from their place of birth.
