Pragmatic conventions: a frame for a theory of action and interaction
Article Abstract:
The Pragmatic conventions, combining G. H. Mead's philosophy of meaning and ongoing reconstruction of the self with Lewis's Model of conventions, as a frame for sociological theory is discussed. Further, Had Gidden's claim to have eliminated the tension between agency and social structure in his structuration theory is disputed.
