The relationship of positive and negative alcohol expectancies to patterns of consumption of alcohol in social drinkers
Article Abstract:
The relative contribution of positive and negative expectancies to the consumption of alcohol was investigated, using an instrument aimed at measuring both positive and negative expectancies. Judgement of intoxication by untrained social drinkers across drinking settings
Article Abstract:
A study of the importance imparted to 18 cues for judging the degree of drunkenness in social drinkers at a fraternity party and a college town bar revealed that 11 of the cues were perceived as more significant in the party setting than in the bar. Cues are related by subjects to intoxication depending on the situation in which they occur.
