Operation Anaconda: Perception meets reality in the hills of Afghanistan
Article Abstract:
Operation Anaconda was launched in early March 2002 by U.S. and the allied forces to dislodge Al Qaeda forces that had gathered near Gardez in Southeast Afghanistan. The battle of Shahi-Kot Valley where the Al Qaeda and the U.S. and allies left the battlefield with valuable lessons that have stopped any similar encounters since silence returned to Shah-Kot is discussed.

Article Abstract:
Members of the jihadi movement have put their team's playbooks online, which can be mined for tactical and strategic insights that will help the US craft effective measures for defeating the jihadi movement and its followers. A study demonstrates the efficacy of this approach by highlighting insights gained from the works of four prominent jihadi ideologues.

Al Qaeda and Iran: Friends or foes, or somewhere in between?
Article Abstract:
Al Qaeda and Iran have longstanding issues with the U.S. and even though these two have serious religious differences and differing geopolitical aims, there seems to be some level of co-operation also between these two as suggested by the Inquiry Commission into 9/11.
