Nonconscious behavioral confirmation processes: the self-fulfilling consequences of automatic stereotype activation
Article Abstract:
Thirty-six male and 46 female college students of New York University participated in an experiment conducted to test whether behavioral confirmation effects are produced by the automatic activation of African American stereotypes. The subjects' response when exposed to black-and-white photos of either Caucasian or African American male faces was observed. Results show that the target person responds according to the perceiver's stereotype-consistent behavior, thus reinforcing the individual's stereotypic beliefs.

The automatic evaluation effect: unconditional automatic attitude activation with a pronunciation task
Article Abstract:
The demonstrations of automatic attitude activation reveals that automatic evaluation response is not influenced by the evaluative aspects of the automatic attitude activation paradigm. The automaticity effect is independent of conscious evaluative processing, but can be moderated by strategic conscious processes. The removal of conscious processing factors from the paradigm increases the generality of automatic evaluation effect.
