Street sleeping in Hong Kong
Article Abstract:
Interviews with street sleepers in one district in Hong Kong revealed that they are not a homogeneous group and that governmental and non-governmental measures have had little effect on the situation and on their lives. Street sleepers in Hong Kong can be categorized as those at risk of becoming street sleepers, new street sleepers and chronic street sleepers. A study of factors leading to street sleeping indicates that measures and policies needed for the three types of street sleepers can only be successful if there is a favorable general housing and employment situation.
