Professional discourses under the pressure of economic values: The case of French architects, landscape designers and industrial designers
Article Abstract:
The two new professions, industrial designers and landscape designers, are compared with the old one, namely architecture. Landscape designers and industrial designers both consider architects as a model for their own organizations and discourses, but the case of architects has shown how dangerous it can be to maintain a traditional discourse without adapting it to new requirements from the professionals' partners in economic life.

Cold War racial politics and global impression management: North Carolina economic development as a case study
Article Abstract:
Management methods used to create the Reseach Triangle Park in Raleigh, NC, are analagous to US government efforts to influence international affairs following World War II. Raleigh's economic development was significantly boosted through the business park and similar measures have attempted to retain international hegemony for the US following the Cold War.

The epistemization of economic transactions
Article Abstract:
The role played by non-academic economic knowledge in advanced economies with respect to market exchanges is examined. The extent to which economic exchanges are embedded in networks or relationships and in processes of knowledge production is depicted on the basis of an ethnographic case study of a major European bank.
